The Sussexes’ circle of friends — including some well-known A-list stars — is steadily shrinking, according to former royal butler Paul Burrell.
“Meghan and Harry have distanced themselves from the royal family. They’ve downgraded themselves. As a result, celebrities have started to distance themselves, fearing harm to their own reputations,” Burrell said, emphasizing that A-list stars “want to associate with Prince William and Princess Kate.”
“Real A-list stars, those within the Sussexes’ circle, realize that Harry and Meghan’s names are no longer popular or valuable. They’re no longer connected to the true royal brand, and I can see people gradually leaving them,” continued the former royal butler.
Burrell also mentioned that Harry and Meghan are no longer members of the royal family. They are now simply celebrities, living in a different world and unlikely to penetrate the royal circle again. “Even though Harry was born a prince, that no longer has any meaning,” Burrell noted.
During her acting career, Meghan formed friendships with many Hollywood stars after landing a lead role in the hit series *Suits*. The mother of two proudly shared her friendships with Priyanka Chopra, Serena Williams, and former co-stars Abigail Spencer and Patrick J. Adams. Additionally, the Sussexes have close friendships with George and Amal Clooney, Oprah Winfrey, Ellen DeGeneres, Elton John, Idris Elba, and Beyoncé.
As for Harry, he has embraced life in the U.S. and declared that he no longer holds residency rights in the U.K. According to Burrell, reconciliation between the royal family and Harry now seems unlikely. “The royal family no longer trusts him. He has eroded the trust people had in him. They can’t invite him back to the U.K. because they know that once he returns to the U.S., he’ll tell Meghan everything, and then the whole world will know,” the former butler explained.
“It’s really sad. If his mother (Princess Diana) were alive, this wouldn’t be happening,” Burrell added.
