What is it About J.Lo’s Childhood Home That Makes Her Afraid?
Jennifer Lopez may seem fearless, but there is one place she refuses to visit: her childhood home. Despite being known for her confidence, there’s a deeper emotional reason that keeps her from stepping inside the house where she grew up.
J.Lo’s Unease About Her Childhood Home
During preparations for an upcoming magazine interview, as Jennifer Lopez walked through the streets of New York, where she was born and raised, she pointed out the modest two-story house that was her childhood home. However, she didn’t dare go inside.
Jennifer Lopez shared, “The last time I was in that house was when my parents called us home to tell us they were getting divorced after 33 years of marriage. I think that’s why I feel uneasy about coming back here today.” She explained further: “It’s like seeing someone from your past – you’re afraid to approach them because you never know if it will be incredibly painful or surprisingly pleasant. For me, it might be a little of both.”
Growing Up “Jenny From The Block”
“I was the second of three sisters. All three of us shared one room,” Jennifer reminisced. “I spent a lot of time playing sports and learning to dance. I had stored up so much energy in preparation for the long journey ahead.“
At the age of 18, Jennifer Lopez made the bold decision to drop out of college, leave home, and pursue her dream of becoming a dancer. “My mom and I had a big argument. Our relationship broke down. I started sleeping on the couch at the dance studio. I had nowhere to go, but I told my mom, ‘This is something I have to do.'”
