Vin Diesel Denies Sexual Harassment Allegations, Files Motion to Dismiss Lawsuit
Vin Diesel has officially responded to sexual harassment allegations made by his former assistant, Asta Jonasson, by filing a motion to dismiss the lawsuit. The Fast & Furious star has been facing these accusations for over three months and is now seeking to clear his name.
On March 27, People reported that Diesel had submitted a formal request for the court to dismiss the lawsuit, asserting that the claims are baseless. Diesel’s legal team has strongly denied all allegations, firmly stating that the actor committed no wrongdoing and has no intention of settling the case.
Bryan Freedman, Diesel’s attorney, emphasized the actor’s innocence, saying, “Vin Diesel denies all claims made by Asta Jonasson. This is the first time he’s hearing about these accusations from an employee who worked for him for only nine days more than 13 years ago. We have ample evidence to refute these baseless allegations.”
The Allegations
The lawsuit, filed in December 2023 in Los Angeles, accuses Vin Diesel of sexually harassing Jonasson in 2010 at the St. Regis Hotel in Atlanta. Jonasson claims that Diesel inappropriately touched her breasts and legs during the filming of Fast Five. According to her, the incident occurred while she was working as Diesel’s assistant. A few hours after the alleged event, Jonasson stated that she was fired by Diesel’s sister, Samantha Vincent, the President of One Race Films.
Beyond sexual harassment, Jonasson’s lawsuit also includes claims of gender and age discrimination, emotional distress, a hostile work environment, and wrongful termination. The lawsuit further mentions inappropriate behavior from a supervisor at One Race Films during her brief employment.
Vin Diesel’s Defense
Despite the gravity of the accusations, Vin Diesel remains resolute in his denial of any misconduct. His legal team continues to push for the dismissal of the case, arguing that the claims are both outdated and without merit.
The actor’s legal battle is expected to continue, but Diesel’s firm stance and refusal to settle suggest that he will fight these allegations in court.
