T.J. Miller, known for his portrayal of Weasel in the first two Deadpool films, has expressed interest in reprising his role in a potential “Deadpool 4″, provided star Ryan Reynolds extends an invitation. This revelation comes despite past public friction between the two actors, suggesting that bridges have been mended.
From Tension to Reconciliation
Miller’s relationship with Reynolds has had its ups and downs. After “Deadpool 2″ was released in 2018, Miller faced several personal controversies, including an arrest over a false bomb threat and allegations of misconduct, which he has denied. By October 2022, tensions came to light when Miller described Reynolds as being “horrifically mean” during on-set interactions. “Would I work with him again? No,” Miller said in an interview on The Adam Carolla Show. He even noted that he found it “weird that [Reynolds] hates me.”
However, things changed when Reynolds reached out shortly after Miller’s comments. “It was really cool; he emailed me the next day,” Miller shared during an appearance on SiriusXM’s Jim Norton & Sam Roberts Show. The actors were able to clear up the misunderstanding, and their professional relationship was restored. “I emailed him back, and now it’s, like, fine,” Miller said.
A Future in Deadpool?
While no official plans for “Deadpool 4″ have been announced, the latest installment, “Deadpool & Wolverine”, became a record-breaking success, surpassing “Jokek” as the highest-grossing R-rated film of all time. Miller’s recent comments suggest he would welcome the chance to return if Reynolds asked him. “He’s just been such a good friend lately,” Miller noted. “I think it would be awesome.”
Miller also reflected on his relationship with director Michael Bay, whom he once criticized after working on “Transformers: Age of Extinction” (2014). Now, Miller considers Bay a friend and said he’d collaborate with him again. “It’s a $300 million film, so it’s not easy for anybody,” he said, acknowledging the challenges of such productions.
For now, fans will have to wait and see if Miller’s wish to return to the Deadpool universe becomes a reality.
