Despite the difficult location, the price is still reasonable – a bottle of water costs only 2 yuan. However, the most appealing aspect for many people is the daily routine of the employees. “It must have taken a lot of energy for the geopark staff to climb up and down this place every day,” one visitor commented.
The employee on duty explained that their daily job includes standing at the store and restocking items before dawn to serve hikers throughout the day. “At first, every new employee is quite scared when being accepted here, but they quickly adapt. Our only real challenge was the bathroom. Every time we need to use it, having to climb up and down is very tiring, so we try not to drink too much water,” a store employee shared.
“Shoppers are always grateful for this service, which makes our work feel very meaningful,” another employee added.
Shiniuzhai National Geopark is a popular sightseeing destination with steep cliffs, waterfalls and picturesque hiking trails. This convenience store opened in 2018 but was temporarily closed due to the Covid-19 pandemic. It is expected that the store will reopen after the epidemic is controlled.
