He was born in Toronto and began his music career in 2009 by anonymously releasing his music on YouTube. Over the years, Tesfaye has risen to become one of the best-selling musical artists in the world, with over 75 million records sold globally. Time magazine listed him as one of the most influential people in the world in 2020, and in 2023, Guinness World Records named him the “most popular artist in the world.”
A Passionate and Perfect Collaboration
Tesfaye wanted to create a shoe that was not only accessible to the public but also clearly expressed his unique personality. He shared, “I was involved in almost every aspect of the design, but my main focus was on the silhouette. The collaboration between XO and Puma allowed us to craft a perfect product.”
While the shoes will be released first, a source revealed that “street-style T-shirts, denim jackets, and stylish pants will soon follow.”
At the beginning of 2024, The Weeknd began promoting the product launch through a series of Instagram posts with the caption “PUMAXO || PARALLELS || 8.24,” sparking excitement and surprise among fans as he ventures further into fashion.
Given Rihanna’s massive success with her Fenty X Puma line, it’s highly likely that Abel will also make a significant impact in the fashion world, especially with his stylish lifestyle sneakers.
