The all-electric MINI Countryman starts at more than $45,000
The all-electric version of the MINI Countryman starts at $45,200, significantly higher than rival Chevrolet Equinox EV. Following the launch of the MINI Countryman SE ALL4 last year, BMW’s MINI brand has now locked in pricing for the electric variant. This price positions the MINI Countryman EV above the Chevrolet Equinox EV, which starts at $33,600, but is still relatively close to the $47,990 price of the Tesla Model Y Long Range AWD.
The front design of the MINI Countryman EV features an enlarged grille, while the main LED headlights are more compact and positioned higher. The Countryman EV is also equipped with roof rails as a standard feature, ready for roof rack installation. Vehicle dimensions are 4,433 mm long, 1,843 mm wide and 1,656 mm high. Customers can choose between white or black roofs at no additional charge. Standard equipment includes 18-inch six-spoke wheels, with the option to upgrade to 19-inch wheels for an additional $600.
The rear of the MINI Countryman EV shows the special taillight design. Inside, the MINI Countryman EV has a minimalist interior with a 9.4-inch round screen in the center of the dashboard. The cabin is equipped with dual-zone automatic air conditioning, adaptive cruise control and parking assist. MINI has not yet revealed other interior details or advanced driver assistance features. Additional standard features include a panoramic sunroof and a power tailgate.
For those seeking more comfort and convenience, customers can opt for interior upgrades such as keyless entry, auto-dimming mirrors or wireless charging outlets. Other available upgrades include heated front seats and a premium Harman Kardon sound system.
MINI Countryman EV is equipped with two electric motors for a combined capacity of 308 horsepower and 494 Nm of torque. Combined with a full-time 4-wheel drive system, the car can accelerate from 0 to 60 mph (0-96 km/h) in just 5.4 seconds.
With a 66.5 kWh battery pack, the MINI Countryman EV has a maximum operating range of up to 341 km after a full charge. When connected to a 130 kW DC fast charger, the battery can be recharged from 10% to 80% in about 30 minutes. The MINI Countryman EV is expected to arrive at US dealerships starting in September. US customers can now reserve a seat with a $250 deposit to ensure early delivery.
