Taylor Swift’s Boyfriend Travis Kelce Ventures into Acting
Travis Kelce, Taylor Swift’s boyfriend and NFL star, is making waves in Hollywood, starring in a horror series and landing a guest role in Adam Sandler’s upcoming film.
On the August 20th episode of The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon, Adam Sandler confirmed that Travis Kelce would be appearing in Happy Gilmore 2—the sequel to the 1996 sports comedy. The film is set to begin shooting in a few weeks in New Jersey.
Earlier this year, on the New Heights podcast, Kelce expressed his desire to be involved in an Adam Sandler film. He revealed that he is a big fan of Happy Gilmore and is willing to do anything to secure a role in the sequel or another Sandler project.
This isn’t Kelce’s first foray into acting. He previously appeared in an episode of the comedy series Moonbase 8 (2020). He is also set to return to the screen with a supporting role in the horror series Grotesquerie, which is scheduled to premiere on September 25. However, his role in the series has yet to be disclosed by the producers. As determind by The Hollywood Reporter, Kelce is currently in negotiations for a leading role in the action-comedy project Loose Cannons, produced by the team behind John Wick. The film revolves around two “maverick” officers from different departments who are forced to become partners after their precincts merge. The duo must collaborate on the toughest cases, as no one else wants to work with them—a storyline reminiscent of Lethal Weapon, Bad Boys, and Rush Hour.
If the project materializes, Loose Cannons would mark Kelce’s first lead role in a feature film. Industry insiders believe this role could be a “major breakthrough” for Kelce in Hollywood.
At 35, the football star has long harbored ambitions of expanding his career into the entertainment industry. He is currently the host of the show Are You Smarter Than a Celebrity?. Kelce’s commitment to Hollywood became more serious when he signed with Creative Artists Agency (CAA) in the spring of 2023 to explore acting opportunities.
Kelce has appeared in numerous commercials for major brands such as LG, McDonald’s, Nike, Old Spice, Pfizer, State Farm, and more. From the standpoint of Business Insider, he earns approximately $5 million annually from endorsements.
Born in 1989, Travis Kelce is a superstar in American football, playing for the Kansas City Chiefs and setting multiple records in the NFL (National Football League). He led his team to victory in the 2024 Super Bowl. Kelce went public with his relationship with Taylor Swift in September 2023.
