Golden State Warriors fans can breathe a sigh of relief after receiving good news from captain Stephen Curry, who had been sidelined with an injury for over a week.
In just three days, the Golden State Warriors will kick off their 2024-2025 NBA campaign with the opening game of the Regular Season. To ease concerns about his potential absence in the season opener, Stephen Curry has delivered positive news for his fans.
According to an update from head coach Steve Kerr, the Warriors’ star player has returned to practice and is on track to play in Thursday’s game against the Portland Trail Blazers.
During the NBA Preseason, Stephen Curry suffered a dislocated finger and experienced discomfort while playing. Initially, he taped his finger to continue practicing and playing, but the pain persisted. As a result, he missed several practices and sat out a preseason game against the Los Angeles Lakers.
Although Golden State went undefeated in all six preseason games, fans were primarily concerned about whether Stephen Curry would recover in time for the season opener on October 24.
Fortunately, head coach Steve Kerr has confirmed that Curry’s finger has healed, and he is back in practice, gearing up for Thursday’s game. “Seeing Steph Curry recover, practice, and even participate in scrimmages with his teammates has been very reassuring,” head coach Steve Kerr said.
He added, “The team still has some issues to resolve before the Regular Season starts, and having Stephen back practicing with his teammates will definitely provide a big boost.”
Despite not being at his best in the preseason, averaging 11 points per game, Stephen Curry‘s shooting percentages (36.6% FG and 28% 3PT) were lower than last season, where he averaged 26.4 points, 45% FG, and 40.8% 3PT. However, no one dares to underestimate Stephen Curry when the Regular Season begins.
Stephen Curry is back and ready to lead the Golden State Warriors as they embark on their journey in the 2024-2025 NBA season.
