The Korean Archery Team had an unforgettable Olympics when they excellently won all 5 gold medals at the 2024 Paris Olympics.
This impressive achievement not only helped Korea become the first country in history to win all 5 gold medals in all archery events in one Olympics, but also marked the second time in history that they completely dominated this sport.
At the 2016 Rio Olympics, although there were only 4 events, the Korean archers also occupied the podium of glory, affirming their superiority on the international stage!
The first Gold Medal of Korean Archery went to three girls Jeon Hun-young, Lim Si-hyeon and Nam Su-hyeon in the women’s team event.
Following that success, male athletes Kim Je-deok, Kim Woo-jin and Lee Woo-seok also completed their mission with an excellent Gold Medal in the men’s team event.
Kim Woo-jin then continued to compete impressively to win the Gold Medal in the mixed team event with Lim Si-hyeon with an absolute victory over the German pair.

Kim Woo-jin was the one who closed the perfect Olympics for Korea when he won the Gold Medal on the evening of August 4 after a tense match against American opponent Brady Ellison.

In the final, the two struggled for each point, when they both shot 10 points in a row to bring the score to 5-5, forcing the decision to be decided by the “golden arrow.”
The victory belonged to the Korean archer when Kim Woo Jin’s last shot hit 55mm from the center, while Ellison’s arrow was 60mm away.
This is the third gold medal for veteran archer Kim Woo Jin at the 2024 Olympics, equaling the achievement of teammate Lim Si Hyeon.
Both Kim Woo-jin and Lim Si-hyeon won their team and mixed team events and both won individual gold medals.

In addition, Kim Woo-jin also made history by becoming the first archer to win 5 gold medals at the Olympics.
Kim Woo-jin previously won the men’s team gold medal at the 2016 Rio Olympics and the 2020 Tokyo Olympics.
The Archery Team’s achievements contributed to half of the gold medals that the Korean Sports Delegation won at this year’s Olympics.
At the end of the 9th day of competition, the Korean Sports Delegation won 10 gold medals, 7 silver medals and 7 medals, ranking 6th in the overall medal table of the 2024 Paris Olympics.
The number of gold medals that Korea won this year is more than the total of 6 gold medals they won at the Tokyo Olympics.
The Korean Sports Delegation still has a chance to improve its achievements as there are many sports that can win gold medals at the 2024 Olympics, including Taekwondo (competing for 8 sets of medals).
