Ronaldo Mimics Messi’s Incident with Dutch Striker
In a recent conversation with his girlfriend Georgina Rodriguez on his personal YouTube channel, 39-year-old football star Cristiano Ronaldo playfully mimicked Lionel Messi’s confrontation with Wout Weghorst during the 2022 World Cup.
The video, titled “Seven Questions Ronaldo Always Wanted to Ask Georgina,” was posted on the UR·Cristiano YouTube channel on September 3rd. After the fourth question, Georgina jokingly said to Ronaldo, “You’re so silly.” Ronaldo quickly responded with a laugh, “What are you looking at, you fool?” This response was a clear imitation of the moment when Messi angrily confronted Weghorst after the World Cup quarter-final match. At that time, the Argentine captain, while being interviewed, noticed Weghorst staring at him and shouted, “What are you looking at, fool? Get out of here!” In the footage, Weghorst was seen trying to explain to Messi and other Argentine players, including Sergio Aguero, Lautaro Martinez, and Lisandro Martinez, that he merely wanted to shake Messi’s hand but was brushed off.
In an interview in January 2023, Messi expressed regret over his reaction during the match against the Netherlands. The former Barcelona and PSG star said, “I didn’t like what I did. Those moments were tense and unpleasant. I acted on emotion, and everything happened so quickly. I didn’t want to leave that image, but it happened.”
Ronaldo’s mimicry of Messi has sparked a buzz on social media. One user on X (formerly Twitter) wrote, “Ronaldo is a fan of Messi.” Another sarcastically commented, “Let’s see when Ronaldo can mimic Messi lifting the World Cup trophy.” Some even expressed a desire to see the Argentine star join Ronaldo in a future YouTube conversation.
During the chat with Georgina, Ronaldo asked her what three items she would bring to a deserted island. The Spanish model replied that she would definitely take her husband, children, water, and food. “I’d also dress nicely just in case,” she joked.
In a tender moment, Ronaldo then asked why Georgina was so beautiful. “Because you look at me with loving eyes,” Georgina replied. Ronaldo responded with “I love you” before kissing his girlfriend.
Ronaldo launched his YouTube channel, UR·Cristiano, on August 21st and quickly set several records. He promised to share more videos about his personal and family life, his children’s upbringing, and his business ventures. The Portuguese superstar also hinted at the possibility of featuring special guests in his videos.
As of September 4th, UR·Cristiano has over 56 million subscribers. Ronaldo aims to surpass MrBeast, the most-followed YouTube channel globally with 312 million subscribers, within the next two years.
