Rimac Nevera R – The World’s Most Powerful Electric Hypercar 2024 Launched
Rimac has just announced its latest electric supercar, the Rimac Nevera R, which is considered the world’s most powerful electric hypercar in 2024. Compared to the regular version, the Nevera R is equipped with 4 electric motors with a capacity increased from 1,889 horsepower to 1,989 horsepower, providing outstanding performance.
Rimac has equipped the Nevera R with a new 108kWh battery (reduced from 120kWh), helping to reduce the weight of the car by 35kg and increase acceleration. Although the weight of the Nevera R is still up to 2,277kg, higher than traditional supercars, this supercar still possesses significant improvements in performance.
The Nevera R uses Michelin Pilot Sport Cup 2 tires instead of Pilot Sport 4S, helping to improve grip. However, the 0-100km/h time remains the same at 1.81 seconds. The 0-200km/h time drops from 4.42 to 4.38 seconds, and the 0-300km/h time drops from 9.22 to 8.66 seconds.
The Rimac Nevera R’s top speed is limited to 350km/h by default, but can be upgraded to 412km/h. The carbon brakes have been upgraded, along with improved torque vectoring software, a fixed rear wing and a new diffuser to improve aerodynamic performance. A 15% improvement in downforce helps generate 400kg of downforce at 350km/h, while aerodynamic efficiency is up 10% and lateral grip is up 5%.
The Nevera R also gets a larger clamshell hood, which makes the front of the car look wider, lower and more modern. The rear spoiler and new wheels are the most prominent features of the Nevera R. The result is a 3.8-second reduction in lap time at the test track. However, the Nevera R still has to break the 20.8km Nurburgring record set by its “big brother” Rimac Nevera last year.
