Rimac Nevera R launched: Electric supercar with 2,078 horsepower, limited to only 40 units
The electric hypercar market has just seen a groundbreaking new entry with the launch of the Rimac Nevera R, with a staggering 2,078 horsepower and the ability to accelerate from 0 to 300 km/h in just 8 .66 seconds. With a limited production run of just 40 units, this model is designed to redefine speed and performance in the world of electric vehicles.
Rimac has introduced the Nevera R as an upgraded version of the already impressive Nevera, which made waves in the automotive world over three years ago. According to the Croatian automaker, the Nevera R is designed to be the “aggressive icon” of the range, delivering excellent track performance.
The heart of the Nevera R is a new generation battery pack with a capacity of 108 kWh, slightly smaller than the 120 kWh battery in the standard model but increasing the maximum capacity to an astonishing 2,078 horsepower. This increase in power helps the car accelerate from 0-100 km/h in just 1.81 seconds, on par with the previous Nevera. However, acceleration times at higher speeds have been significantly reduced, from 0-200 km/h now achieved in 4.38 seconds (down from 4.42 seconds) and 100-200 km/h in just 2. 46 seconds (down from 2.59 seconds). Notably, the Nevera R only takes 8.66 seconds to reach a speed of 300 km/h, a notable improvement compared to the Nevera’s 9.22 seconds.
In addition to its incredible power, the Nevera R can complete a quarter mile (0.4 km) in just 8.23 seconds and reach a top speed of 412 km/h, slightly better than the original Nevera. copy. This supercar is expected to break many records that Nevera set last year.
In addition to performance improvements, the Nevera R is equipped with new Michelin Cup 2 tires and a next-generation R-AWTV torque vectoring system to optimize traction. Aerodynamics have also been significantly improved, including a larger rear wing and revised diffuser, which increase total downforce by 15%, lateral grip by 5% and reduce understeer by 10%.
These upgrades have helped the Nevera R reduce run time on the Nardo Ring by 3.8 seconds compared to the previous model. The car is finished in special Nebula Green paint, is equipped with staggered wheels (20 inches at the front and 21 inches at the rear) and has a highly customized luxury interior.
Production of the Nevera R will be limited to 40 units, out of the 150 initially planned for the Nevera line. Given its exclusivity and performance, the Nevera R is expected to command a hefty price tag, with the standard Nevera already costing over 2 million euros.
