Red Panda’s “Threatening” Expression Captivates the Internet with Overwhelming Cuteness
The red panda, scientifically known as Ailurus fulgens and often called the Fire Fox or Lesser Panda, is a fascinating herbivorous mammal that stands out for its distinctive appearance and behaviors. Human activities such as hunting for their fur and capturing them for the pet trade have led to a significant decline in their population. They have unfortunately become extinct in 4 of the 7 provinces in China and now number only about 10,000 individuals worldwide. The loss of their natural habitat further compounds their risk of extinction.
One of the most interesting behaviors of the red panda is their method of marking and defending their territory.
