Nicki Minaj has fulfilled her grand dream by gifting her mother a luxurious home along with a fleet of dream cars since she rose to fame in the music industry.
The 40-year-old rapper, known for her hit “Anaconda,” has an estimated fortune of $150 million, bringing immense joy to her mother, Carol Maraj, with extravagant gifts since Nicki burst onto the scene with her debut album “Pink Friday” in 2010. Carol shared with Page Six, “She has gifted me a sparkling Mercedes-Benz, a beautiful house, and several different cars.”
When speaking about Nicki’s life in America, Carol couldn’t hide her pride: “I love my home. (Nicki) was born in Trinidad and came here when she was just five years old. It’s amazing to see my daughter become such a successful icon.”
Nicki also expressed her gratitude in her 2010 rap song “I’m the Best,” stating, “I remember when I couldn’t buy my mother a couch; now I’m signing a contract to buy her a house.”
Carol added, “I never imagined my daughter could become such a big superstar while I was raising my kids in America. I am very proud of her success, but I also have my own passions and drive. It’s wonderful to know that I am unique.”
As a mother of three, including her son Jelani and daughter Ming, Carol has always emphasized the “importance of education” to her daughter. She said, “I insisted that my children go to school and give their best when they came to America.”
“Since childhood, I have been determined no matter what happens in my life. I studied nursing.”
“Hope has always been the motivation for me to keep going, and that’s the message I want to convey to other women: that it’s not over yet.”
Nicki, whose real name is Onika Tanya Maraj, grew up with her grandmother in a large family with 11 cousins. Her mother, a gospel singer, worked various jobs to make ends meet before obtaining her green card and moving to the U.S. at the age of 24, bringing Nicki and her brother Jelani with her.
Nicki’s father, Robert, a high-ranking financial executive and gospel singer, struggled with addiction to alcohol and drugs, leading to a steep decline in his life and career. He burned down the family home in 1987 when Nicki was just five years old.
