Dejounte Murray Out Indefinitely Due to Left Hand Injury

Pelicans guard Dejounte Murray will be out indefinitely after suffering a fracture in his left hand. The injury occurred in the fourth quarter of their season-opening 123-111 win against the Chicago Bulls. New Orleans officially announced the injury on Thursday.

In late October, Murray underwent successful surgery on his left hand, performed by Dr. Michelle Carlson at the Hospital for Special Surgery in New York. The expected recovery time is 4-6 weeks.

“We hope he won’t be out too long,” said Pelicans guard CJ McCollum, adding that Dejounte Murray played through pain in the fourth quarter, telling McCollum his hand was hurt but continued playing.
