Survival Skills The Big Sister’s Survival Skills Help Her Three Younger Sisters Survive 40 Days in the Amazon.
When the plane crash occurred on May 1, the eldest sister Lesly, 13 years old, became the decisive factor that helped her survive for 40 days in the Amazon to solve the problem. After the plane crashed and crashed into the water, three adults on board died, including mother Magdalena Mucutui Valencia, indigenous leader Herman Mendoza Hernández and the pilot. Meanwhile, Lesly’s sisters, Soleiny, 9 years old, Tien Noriel, 5 years old, and Cristin, 11 months old, survived thanks to Lesly’s sensitivity and survival skills.

Lesly did not quickly use her knowledge of survival but still knew how to handle emergency situations. Immediately after discovering that their mother had died, Lesly took care of her siblings by using her mother’s clothes to bandage their wounds. When the tapioca flour from the plane ran out, Lesly guided the siblings away from the plane and used the survival skills their grandmother had taught them to find food. They ate palm berries, wildflowers, and non-poisonous fruits. The eldest sister also wisely used soda bottles and items from the plane to build shelters and stay warm during the cold nights.
