McLaren Artura Spider Unveiled
The McLaren Artura Spider, the convertible version of the McLaren Artura supercar, has officially arrived in the Malaysian market with a price of 3.4 million RM (including taxes). This model features a plug-in hybrid powertrain that has been refined for enhanced performance compared to the coupe version.
Like the coupe, the McLaren Artura Spider is equipped with a 3.0-liter twin-turbocharged V6 engine paired with an electric motor. This powertrain sends power to the rear wheels through an 8-speed dual-clutch SSG transmission and an electronic differential. The M630 engine, with dry fuel injection, produces 597 horsepower and 585 Nm of torque, while the electric motor adds 94 horsepower and 225 Nm. The total system output is 691 horsepower and 720 Nm, allowing the Artura Spider to accelerate from 0-100 km/h in just three seconds and reach an electronically limited top speed of 330 km/h.
The Artura Spider comes with a 7.4 kWh battery, providing an electric-only range of up to 33 km. With AC charging, the battery can be replenished from 0 to 80% in approximately 2.5 hours. Similar to the coupe, the Artura Spider is built on the super-lightweight carbon fiber MCLA (McLaren Carbon Lightweight Architecture) platform, featuring a monocoque carbon fiber chassis and aluminum front and rear subframes.
The braking system includes six-piston front and four-piston rear aluminum monobloc calipers, paired with 390 mm (front) and 380 mm (rear) carbon ceramic discs. The wheels are 19 inches in the front and 20 inches in the rear, fitted with custom Pirelli P Zero tires, 235/35 front and 295/35 rear.
The Artura Spider’s roof can be closed in just 11 seconds at speeds of up to 50 km/h. With the roof down, occupants can enjoy the modern interior design featuring an 8-inch vertical MIS II infotainment screen and a digital instrument cluster. The McLaren Clubsport seats come with features such as electric adjustments, heating, and a five-speaker audio system. Customers can opt for the Technology Pack to upgrade to a Bowers & Wilkins 12-speaker audio system.
McLaren also offers optional features such as custom wheel designs, titanium wheel bolts, and interior customization according to the company’s special design packages, providing a higher level of personalization.
The Artura Spider comes standard with an ADAS package, including features such as adaptive cruise control, road sign recognition, lane departure warning, and headlight assistance. Each Artura is covered by a five-year vehicle warranty, a six-year battery warranty, and a ten-year body warranty.
