Mark Zuckerberg Erects a 2-Meter Statue of His Wife in Their Garden
Mark Zuckerberg recently made headlines by commissioning a giant statue of his wife, Priscilla Chan. The Facebook CEO and co-founder shared the striking image of the statue in their garden on his personal Instagram account, sparking widespread attention.
In the photo posted on Instagram, Zuckerberg commented on “bringing back Roman tradition with a statue of my wife,” as reported by The Guardian. The impressive sculpture was crafted by Daniel Arsham, a renowned New York artist known for collaborations with brands like Tiffany and Dior.
The statue, depicting Priscilla Chan, is rendered in a vibrant green hue, capturing her mid-stride with a large silver cloak billowing behind her. Standing next to the life-sized sculpture, which is estimated to be around 2.1 meters tall and placed under a tree, Chan playfully commented in the post, “The more of me, the better?” accompanied by a heart emoji.
Historically, during the Roman era, statues were often made to honor deceased loved ones or to “remember significant relatives and create meaningful connections.”
People magazine dubbed Zuckerberg as “the ultimate wife guy!” – a term trending on social media to describe a man who becomes famous for posting about his wife. This term has evolved to describe men who use their spouses to enhance their social standing or public persona.
The statue received an overwhelmingly positive reaction from Zuckerberg’s followers. “Oh wow, she’s so lucky,” one person wrote, while another account dedicated to luxury and wealth commented, “This needs to be in a museum,” along with clapping emojis.
Interestingly, Zuckerberg chose not to post this image on Facebook, although he recently shared a video of himself surfing while dressed in a tuxedo.
