Many Actors Criticize Marvel Films, Chris Hemsworth Expresses Disappointment
In the wake of ongoing criticisms about the quality of Marvel films, Chris Hemsworth has stepped forward to defend the franchise. The actor candidly addressed the heavy criticisms that superhero films have faced over time, expressing his disappointment particularly with the Hollywood icon Martin Scorsese, who has dismissed these films as not being true cinema. Hemsworth also voiced his frustration at fellow Marvel actors who have publicly criticized these projects.
“It’s harsh, and it affects me, especially coming from my heroes,” the star, known for his role as Thor, commented on Scorsese’s remarks. “Those people have had their share of unsuccessful films too; we all have. When they speak negatively about superhero movies, I think, ‘Tell that to the billions of people who have watched them. Are they all wrong?’”
However, this wasn’t the only thing troubling him. Hemsworth expressed his discontent regarding co-stars who were once part of these Marvel blockbusters but now criticize the films they participated in.
He frankly stated, “When it was a blockbuster, they wanted to be a part of it. Did their film flop? Now they’re talking trash about it. I grew up watching long-running TV shows, and I often feel irritated when actors later speak about those shows with guilt and shame. Humility will take you far.”
Despite the wave of audience fatigue regarding Marvel films and the perceived backlash from some actors, the star born in 1983 continues to defend the franchise that has significantly contributed to his success in Hollywood. He believes that superhero films have played a crucial role in keeping audiences coming back to theaters, and he hopes that viewers will return to this genre in the future.
