Li Ruotong Reunites with ‘Yang Guo’ Louis Koo
Hong Kong actress Li Ruotong recently reconnected with Louis Koo, whom she affectionately called “Guo’er,” marking their reunion after 29 years since starring together in the classic series The Return of the Condor Heroes.
On August 28, Li Ruotong shared a video on her social media, playfully chasing after her longtime colleague. She captioned it: “After 29 years, Guo’er looks back, and his Gu Gu is still right behind him.”
From the standpoint of Sina, the two actors attended an event for a major brand in China. During the event, Li Ruotong revealed that while they coincidentally met last year, it’s been many years since they’ve worked together. She praised Louis Koo for maintaining his youthful and handsome appearance, to which Koo jokingly replied, “You’re quite good at lying!”
When asked about the possibility of collaborating on a new project, Louis Koo mentioned that there are no immediate plans to co-star in a film. However, he expressed his desire to work with Li Ruotong again in the future. On Weibo, thousands of fans were transported back to the 1990s, seeing the two stars together again. Fans commented, “After nearly 30 years, I’m still moved by them,” “Li Ruotong is stunning at nearly 60,” and “I feel like I’m about to cry; she’s still the most beautiful Xiao Long Nu in my heart.”
Li Ruotong and Louis Koo originally portrayed Xiao Long Nu and Yang Guo in the 1995 adaptation of The Return of the Condor Heroes, where their characters famously called each other “Gu Gu” and “Guo’er.” The series became a sensation across many Asian countries.
From the standpoint of Sina, over the years, rumors occasionally surfaced about them dating, but Li Ruotong has consistently denied these, stating that it’s not possible. Despite not seeing each other often, Li Ruotong has kept a close eye on Koo’s career, once saying, “From a skinny young man, he’s become a strong and mature man. There’s always been a calmness about him.”
Both actors are currently single. In recent years, Li Ruotong has been active in film and popular at events in Mainland China, while Louis Koo has focused on producing and starring in numerous successful films, including Dynasty Warriors, Line Walker 3, and Warriors of Future.
