Lexus RX 2025: Introducing the Exclusive Black Line Special Edition
Lexus has unveiled the 2025 RX lineup, including the limited-edition Black Line Special Edition, set to capture the attention of luxury SUV enthusiasts. The RX, Lexus’s best-selling model in the U.S., gets a fresh update with this special edition, limited to just 500 units in North America.
This isn’t the first time Lexus has released a Black Line Special Edition. Previous iterations have included the GS 350 F Sport in 2020, the UX 250h in 2021, and two versions of the RX in 2022. The 2025 RX Black Line Special Edition is based on the RX 500h F Sport Performance model and is designed to offer a unique blend of luxury and sportiness.
The 2025 RX Black Line stands out with its exclusive Incognito Gray exterior paint, accented by dark trim details. The SUV is equipped with 21-inch black sport wheels, highlighted by contrasting orange brake calipers, enhancing its bold and dynamic appearance. Inside the cabin, the RX Black Line features black leather seats with contrasting gray stitching, adding a refined touch to its sporty theme. A standard 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster provides a modern and high-tech driving experience.
The 2025 Lexus RX will be available in seven trims: Standard, Premium, Premium+, Luxury, F Sport Handling, F Sport Design, and F Sport Performance. Notably, the F Sport Design is a new addition for the RX 350 and RX 350h models, building upon the Premium trim with added sporty elements such as unique front and rear bumpers and a distinctive grille. The F Sport Design also includes open-pore black wood trim and 21-inch black wheels, emphasizing a more aggressive aesthetic.
The 2025 RX lineup offers a variety of powertrain options to cater to different driving preferences. The top-tier RX 500h F Sport Performance is powered by a 2.4L turbocharged inline-four hybrid engine, delivering a combined output of 371 horsepower and 550 Nm of torque. This model is paired with a 6-speed automatic transmission and Lexus’s DIRECT4 all-wheel-drive system, a configuration shared with the Black Line Special Edition.
Below the RX 500h is the RX 450h+, featuring a plug-in hybrid powertrain that combines a 2.5L four-cylinder engine with three electric motors and an 18.1 kWh lithium-ion battery pack. This setup produces a total of 304 horsepower, mated to a CVT transmission. The RX 350h uses a self-charging hybrid system, generating 246 horsepower and 316 Nm of torque, also with a CVT. Lastly, the RX 350 is equipped with a 2.5L turbocharged gasoline engine, offering 275 horsepower and 429 Nm of torque, paired with an 8-speed automatic transmission.
The 2025 Lexus RX is expected to arrive at U.S. dealerships by the end of the year. While official pricing has not been announced, it is anticipated to be slightly higher than the current model’s starting price of $49,950.
With the addition of the Black Line Special Edition, the 2025 RX lineup continues to offer a compelling blend of luxury, performance, and exclusivity, maintaining its position as a top choice in the luxury SUV market.
