Kylie Jenner, the 27-year-old reality television star and founder of Kylie Cosmetics, has announced a significant decision regarding the two children she shares with her former partner, Travis Scott. The mother of six-year-old Stormi and two-year-old Aire expressed her desire to shield her children from the influence of social media for as long as possible. In her recent statements, Jenner emphasized that any information or photographs of her children that are shared publicly must originate from either herself or their father. She hopes that her children will not establish their own social media accounts until they have moved out of the family home.
In an interview with ELLE, Jenner articulated her protective stance, stating, “When I do share my children, I want it to come from me or their father. It’s no socials for as long as possible.” However, she also acknowledged the challenges of enforcing this rule, particularly regarding her eldest child, Stormi, who seems to have found a way around the restriction. Kylie remarked on Stormi’s ability to learn TikTok dances independently, exclaiming, “Stormi will come home and she’ll know full TikTok dances. I’m like, ‘Where did you learn this?'”
While Jenner is committed to safeguarding her children’s online presence until they are older, she enjoys providing glimpses into their lives through her social media platforms. Recently, she shared a touching drawing created by her daughter, which read, “I love you mommy, I miss you mommy.” Additionally, she posted a picture of another artwork by Stormi, depicting an orange cat, accompanied by the caption, “My daughter is an artist.”
Reflecting on her journey to motherhood, Jenner revealed that she was only 19 when she became pregnant with Stormi. In an interview with British Vogue, she shared her thoughts on the unexpected nature of her pregnancy, stating, “Stormi wasn’t planned. It happened, but obviously, I knew that I wanted to have her. I wanted children so bad.” She recounted the whirlwind experience of becoming a mother at a young age, explaining, “I was 19 when I got pregnant, 20 when I had her… It was wild… Looking back at it, I give myself more empathy and grace.”
Jenner discussed the emotional complexities she faced after giving birth, including a prolonged period of postpartum depression. She noted that her struggles with postpartum lasted approximately a year for both pregnancies. “I’m going to be 27, and I’m finally feeling like myself again,” she said, reflecting on the difficulties she experienced during that time. Jenner candidly described how motherhood changed her life dramatically, emphasizing the mental and hormonal challenges that accompany pregnancy and postpartum recovery.
Despite facing criticism as a young mother, Jenner remains resilient. She spoke about the unconditional love she receives from her children, stating, “No matter what I’m going through or what I look like or what the internet writes about me that day, I come home and my kids just love me unconditionally.” This unwavering support from her children has taught her to navigate life’s challenges with greater ease. “I have these little humans at home that need me and love me and think I’m the most perfect person in the world, so I don’t really need validation from outside sources,” she concluded, illustrating her commitment to prioritizing her family’s well-being over external judgments.
