Korean Star Forgives Husband’s Infidelity
Korean actress Jang Shin Young has revealed that she has forgiven her husband, Kang Kyung Joon, for his infidelity in an effort to preserve their family for the sake of their children.
August 20th, Jang Shin Young, through her management company, publicly addressed the scandal involving Kang Kyung Joon that surfaced late last year. She expressed her apologies for the turmoil their personal lives have caused, acknowledging the hurt it brought to many.
Jang Shin Young and Kang Kyung Joon engaged in numerous conversations to resolve their issues, with both reflecting on their own actions. “For the sake of our children, we are striving to keep our family intact and start afresh. I ask everyone to forgive Kang Kyung Joon and to be less critical of him,” Jang Shin Young stated. She described the past eight months as a dark period, but emphasized that she has been focusing on staying strong and positive to protect her children.
Kang Kyung Joon’s reputation took a significant hit at the end of 2023 when a man, referred to as “A,” accused the actor of having an affair with his wife. “A” made public several text messages allegedly sent by Kang Kyung Joon to his wife, containing phrases such as “I want to hold you” and “I love you.” “A” demanded 50 million won in damages for emotional distress. Although Kang Kyung Joon attempted to settle the matter to avoid legal action, the efforts were unsuccessful. In late July, the court convened for the lawsuit, with Kang Kyung Joon accepting “A’s” demands.
Jang Shin Young and Kang Kyung Joon have been married for six years and share a son. Jang Shin Young, who had been married before and has a son from her previous marriage, had changed her son’s surname to Kang Kyung Joon’s after their marriage. The family gained popularity through their appearance on KBS 2’s reality show, “The Return of Superman.”
Jang Shin Young, 40, has been active in the entertainment industry for 23 years, working as an actress and singer. She has starred in numerous productions, including “The Road Home,” “I Am Legend,” “Flower of Revenge,” “The Chaser,” and “Bad Guys 2.” Kang Kyung Joon, who is one year older than his wife, made his acting debut in 2004 with “Nonstop 5.” He has appeared in dramas such as “Sisters-in-Law,” “A Daughter Just Like You,” and “To the Beautiful You.” The actor has been absent from the entertainment industry since the scandal broke.
