Cousins Delivers Another Dominant Game
Kirk Cousins completed 23 of 29 passes for 276 yards, throwing four touchdowns and no interceptions in the Atlanta Falcons’ 31-26 victory over the Tampa Bay Buccaneers on Sunday. He also added three rushing attempts for 16 yards, and although he had a fumble, Atlanta managed to retain possession.
Cousins had previously torched the Buccaneers with four touchdown passes in a thrilling Week 5 win, but in Sunday’s matchup, with Tampa Bay missing key players like Mike Evans (hamstring injury) and Chris Godwin (knee injury), few expected the veteran QB to perform so dominantly. However, the Buccaneers couldn’t stop him, consistently applying pressure throughout the game and allowing Cousins to deliver yet another outstanding performance.
Key Touchdown Connections
Cousins connected with Kyle Pitts for two touchdown receptions on deep throws of 36 and 49 yards, followed by two more touchdown passes to Darnell Mooney and Bijan Robinson from 30 and 6 yards out, respectively. The seasoned quarterback has now thrown at least one touchdown in four consecutive games.
Looking Ahead to Week 9
In his next outing, Cousins will face the struggling defense of the Dallas Cowboys in a home game in Week 9, where he will aim to continue his impressive performance and build on this successful stretch.
