Actor James Marsden, 51, was spotted on a lunch date with his 26-year-old girlfriend Frederique Brons in New York City on November 18. The couple, who were first linked in October 2023, were seen holding hands as they strolled down the streets of Manhattan, looking relaxed and affectionate.
For she outing, James kept it casual, wearing blue jeans, a cream-colored hoodie, a backwards blue baseball cap, and stylish sunglasses. Frederique, a model, also opted for a comfortable look in jeans, a brown jacket, and sunglasses.
The couple has kept their relationship relatively private since it was first reported. James, known for his roles in The Notebook and Enchanted, tends to keep his personal life out of the spotlight. This includes his children: son Jack (22) and daughter Mary (19), whom he shares with ex-wife Lisa Linde, as well as 10-year-old son William, whom he co-parents with ex-girlfriend Rose Costa.
In a 2023 interview with People, James revealed that while his daughter has some interest in the entertainment industry, his sons are not yet interested. “My daughter has [interest], but my boys, not yet. Not so far,” he said. James also praised his daughter’s talent but added that he’s not pushing her into show business. “I wouldn’t discourage them, for sure,” he explained.
While James is private about his personal life, he has had a varied and successful acting career. One of his recent roles was playing an exaggerated version of himself in the hit series Jury Duty, which allowed him to showcase his comedic side. Reflecting on the role, James told Newsweek in March, “The strange thing to me is, people say, ‘You took such a risk.’ It didn’t feel like a risk. It felt safe.”
However, James admits that roles that require deeper emotional conviction are more challenging. “The real risk comes when I play a part that I feel is more real and full of ‘conviction,'” he said. “That’s a little more daunting and scary to me than making a dunce of myself.”
