During his visit, Kelce, now 36, became the center of a viral incident after he confronted a Penn State fan who made offensive remarks about his brother, Kansas City Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce.
The fan, aiming to provoke Jason, called out, “Hey, Kelce, how does it feel your brother’s a f***** dating Taylor Swift?” The slur referenced Travis’s high-profile relationship with Swift, which began in 2023. As Kelce walked through a crowd of fans, many were trying to get his attention, some even calling out for fist bumps. However, the offensive comment seemed to be a turning point for the usually calm Jason.
In response, Jason Kelce immediately approached the fan, snatched his phone, and smashed it on the ground. The bold move was captured on video and quickly went viral on X (formerly Twitter). A user who shared the clip described it as a “wild scene” in State College, suggesting that the fan’s actions had crossed a line that led to Kelce’s reaction.
In the footage, Jason can be seen throwing the phone to the ground, shattering it before picking it up and continuing on his way. The fan, dressed in a Penn State hoodie, followed closely behind, repeatedly asking Kelce to return his phone. At one point, he pleaded, “Give me my phone, bro.” Unfazed, Jason turned around and said, “Who’s the f***** now?” as a few nearby fans intervened to prevent further escalation.
The altercation took place during Jason’s appearance, where he was attending as a guest to watch the Ohio State Buckeyes face the Penn State Nittany Lions. The game concluded with Ohio State securing a win over Penn State, ending with a score of 20-13.
