DaBaby has made it known that he’s eager to work with Megan Thee Stallion again, calling on her to stop collaborating with artists he considers “lame” and come back to making music with him. In a clip from his upcoming Drink Champs interview, DaBaby shared his admiration for Megan and his hopes for a new collaboration. “I got love for Meg. Me and Meg made some dope shit together, and it’s good to see her rise above the obstacles,” he said, referencing Megan’s resilience following her 2020 shooting incident involving Tory Lanez.
A Vision for a Future Collab
DaBaby even proposed a potential track featuring himself, GloRilla, and Megan. “I’m manifesting a song with Glo[Rilla], Meg, and Baby together. I think that’s the way me and Meg should pop back out because I feel like… none of these n-ggas… can really embody that. You gotta come get that shit from Baby.” He ended his message with an affectionate plea, “Come home, baby… you can come get it in.”
Complicated History Between DaBaby and Megan
Despite DaBaby’s enthusiasm, the chances of a reunion seem slim due to the rocky relationship between the two. The tension escalated when DaBaby claimed in his 2022 track “Boogeyman” that he and Megan had been romantically involved, even suggesting they were together the day before her shooting incident with Tory Lanez. Megan addressed these claims indirectly, emphasizing her autonomy and control over her personal life, stating during a performance, “I do what I want to with my body, when I want to with my body, with who I want to with my body.”
Further Conflict at Rolling Loud
Their strained relationship deepened after an alleged incident at Rolling Loud in 2021, where it was reported that DaBaby and Lanez attempted to approach Megan’s performance area, violating a protective order. This claim surfaced in Lanez’s sentencing memorandum after he was convicted of the assault on Megan. The document read: “During the victim’s performance, the defendant went through security clearance and entered the green room… These areas were within 100 yards of the stage where the victim was performing, in violation of the protective order.” According to the memorandum, Megan was unaware of their presence and did not consent to them being at the venue during her performance.
Past Success Together – Will They Reunite?
DaBaby and Megan have previously collaborated on several hit songs, including the four-times platinum single “Cry Baby,” the platinum-certified “Cash Shit,” and “Nasty.” Their musical chemistry led Drink Champs co-host N.O.R.E. to liken their dynamic to that of JAY-Z and Foxy Brown in the 1990s.
Although DaBaby is eager to rekindle their partnership, Megan’s recent actions and statements suggest that she may have moved on. With their history marked by public disputes and alleged personal betrayals, only time will tell if Megan will ever respond to DaBaby’s invitation to “come home.”
