Cheese Museum: A Must-Visit Destination in Paris During the 2024 Olympics
The Cheese Museum, which opened just before the Paris 2024 Olympics, is set to attract food enthusiasts with a love for this iconic delicacy.
While Paris is renowned for its classic museums like the Louvre, Pompidou, and Orsay, the city now boasts a brand-new attraction: the Cheese Museum (Musée du Fromage). This unique museum, which opened its doors just before the start of the Olympics on July 26, offers visitors an immersive experience into the history and culture of cheese through multimedia exhibits and interactive installations.
At Musée du Fromage, visitors can explore the fascinating world of cheese, learning about various traditional types, the production process, and, of course, indulging in a tasting experience that features a wide array of flavors. The museum also includes a gift shop filled with delightful souvenirs, perfect for taking home a piece of your cheesy adventure.
Located at 39 Rue Saint-Louis en l’Île in the 4th arrondissement, right in the heart of Paris, the museum spans 300 square meters. It’s conveniently close to the iconic Notre-Dame Cathedral, making it easy for visitors to also check out the ongoing restoration of the cathedral after the devastating fire five years ago.
Admission to the museum is priced at 20 euros for adults, with a 50% discount for children aged 5 to 11.
In the future, the museum plans to host workshops, live demonstrations of the cheese-making process, and classes that will give visitors a deeper understanding of this beloved food.
