Which obtained a copy of his death certificate, the iconic producer succumbed to pancreatic cancer. The report also confirmed that no other contributing factors were involved in his death.
Prior to his passing, Jones had not publicly disclosed his battle with the disease, making the news a shock to fans around the globe.
Jones’ spokesperson, Arnold Robinson, previously announced that the legendary producer passed away on Sunday night, November 3 (AEDT), at his home in Bel Air, Los Angeles, surrounded by family.
“Tonight, with broken hearts, we must share the news of the passing of our beloved father and brother Quincy Jones,” the family said.
“While this is a tremendous loss for our family, we celebrate the remarkable life he lived and know there will never be another like him.”
A Storied Career
Throughout his illustrious career, Quincy Jones collaborated with countless legendary artists, including Frank Sinatra, Ray Charles, and the “King of Pop” Michael Jackson. He played a pivotal role in the production of Jackson’s iconic albums Off The Wall, Thriller, and Bad. Notably, Thriller remains the best-selling album of all time.
International media reports indicate that Jones was laid to rest in a private family ceremony in Los Angeles, exactly one week after his passing. A larger, public memorial is also being planned.
The family stated, “The intimate service was attended by his seven children, his brother, two sisters, and immediate family members.”
