Cardi B’s “Flying” Microphone Thrown at A Fan Put Up For Auction
Cardi B and the “Expensive” Microphone
On July 29, during a performance in Las Vegas, Cardi B threw a microphone at an audience member who splashed water on her mid-performance. Following the incident, the 30-year-old rapper faced investigation by local police on assault charges.
After the incident, the audio equipment provider for the concert decided to auction the microphone online. The event gained so much attention that over 120 bids were placed, pushing the microphone’s value to nearly $100,000.
Scott Fisher, the owner of the audio equipment company, described the microphone being auctioned: “We provided a range of equipment for the show, not just this microphone. Regarding the microphone, we can offer specific proof that this is the same microphone used by Cardi B in her recent performance.” He further noted that the microphone, marked with “main” for the rapper, is the very one that became famous after Cardi B threw it at an audience member following a water-splashing incident. “The microphone was still fully functional when we tested it post-event.”
Scott Fisher added that he wanted to use this situation to give back to society. Therefore, he will donate all proceeds from the microphone auction to two charities dedicated to helping veterans and individuals in difficult situations.
The Reason Behind the “Flying” Microphone
After the microphone-throwing incident, the alleged victim filed a complaint with Las Vegas police, leading to an assault investigation involving Cardi B. Interestingly, prior to the incident, the rapper had encouraged fans to splash water on her to help her cool down in the heat.
Following the investigation, Cardi B’s assault charge was dropped. Cardi B is a prominent rapper recognized not only in the United States but globally. She was previously listed by Forbes as one of the most influential female rappers in the international music industry.
