Rapper Cardi B fired back at Elon Musk after the billionaire endorsed a political campaign and called her a “puppet” following her passionate rally speech.
Reasons for clash between Elon Musk and Cardi B
Cardi B spoke at an event in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, on Friday, where she criticized a political candidate for saying, “I’ll do it whether women like it or not. I’ll protect them.”
Before her speech, Cardi B faced technical difficulties when the teleprompter broke, leaving her to improvise on stage before she was finally handed a phone containing her speech.
Sharing a video of her speech, Musk mocked the star and referred to her as “Another puppet who can’t even speak without being fed words.” The Tesla, SpaceX, and X/Twitter owner added, “The Kamala campaign lacks authenticity or genuine empathy.”
Cardi B’s Response to Elon Musk
In response, Cardi B stated, “I’m no puppet, Elon… I’m the daughter of two immigrant parents who had to work their asses off to raise me!”
“I’m a product of welfare, I’m a product of Section 8, I’m a product of poverty, and I’m a product of what happens when the system is set against you… But you don’t know anything about that,” she clapped back.
“You don’t know a thing about the American struggle… PS fix my algorithm,” the “WAP” singer added.
Cardi B’s response to Musk received widespread support, with the post garnering over 36 million views.
“Listen, Cardi. Who is he to dictate what anyone in the US should do,” one fan commented.
Another wrote, “Reminder that the real rags-to-riches story is Cardi B, not Elon Musk — whose family was worth over $100 million when he was a child.”
“I don’t know why people keep testing @iamcardib. She’s the damn American dream come true,” a third fan added.
A fourth joked, “The ‘PS fix my algorithm’ line was just the cherry on top.”
