Billionaire Bryan Johnson, known for his ambitious goal to live to 200 years old, describes this mission as “the most significant revolution in Homo sapiens’ history.”
After selling his startup Braintree to PayPal in 2013 for $800 million, Johnson decided to invest $2 million annually in reversing aging—quite literally “buying back his youth.”
Extreme Measures in the Pursuit of Longevity
To achieve his goal, Bryan Johnson has undertaken a series of extreme anti-aging experiments, spending approximately $137,000 per day. Among these experiments is a controversial method where he used his 18-year-old son’s blood plasma, hoping to rejuvenate his own body. Johnson also donates plasma to his 70-year-old father in hopes of reversing his father’s aging process. However, the FDA has stated there is no scientific evidence to support these plasma-based procedures.
A Rigorous Regimen
Johnson follows a strict routine designed by a team of 30 personal doctors. His daily life includes consuming only 1,950 calories, intermittent fasting, and taking 111 supplements such as zinc, vitamin D, and ashwagandha. He also uses cutting-edge therapies like collagen peptides, flavanol cocoa, and specialized antioxidants.
On a physical level, Johnson’s regimen includes 25 exercise routines, weekly chemical peels, laser therapy, and electric stimulation of his pelvic floor. He tracks his health obsessively through daily bio-metric readings and monthly comprehensive tests, ranging from blood analysis to MRI scans.
The “Baby Face Project”
Despite achieving biological markers akin to someone much younger—such as the heart health of a 37-year-old and the lung capacity of an 18-year-old—Bryan Johnson admits his appearance is a challenge. His extreme diet and lifestyle have resulted in a gaunt face, leading him to pursue the “Baby Face Project” to restore facial fat. Unfortunately, a recent experiment involving extracellular matrix injections resulted in severe allergic reactions due to using donor fat rather than his own.
Obsession with Youth
Born on August 22, 1977, in Utah, Bryan Johnson grew up in a challenging family environment. Even during his university days, his entrepreneurial spirit was evident as he funded his education by selling mobile phones. This drive later led to the creation of successful companies and a relentless pursuit of the ultimate dream: defying mortality.
While Johnson acknowledges setbacks in his methods, he continues to refine his anti-aging experiments, aiming to unlock what he believes could be humanity’s next great frontier: immortality.
