Elon Musk, the tech billionaire and CEO of Tesla, has “started a feud” with Taylor Swift after the singer announced her support for Kamala Harris, the Democratic presidential candidate.
In a shocking post on social media platform X on September 11, Musk wrote: “Alright Taylor… You win… I will give you a child and protect your cat with my life.” This comment from Elon Musk came after Taylor Swift expressed concern that images of her created by artificial intelligence (AI) were being used to imply that she supported former President Donald Trump.
Taylor Swift declared that she would vote for Kamala Harris and urged her fans to register to participate in the upcoming presidential election in November. At the end of her post, she signed off as “The Cat Lady Without Kids,” referencing a controversial statement made by Republican vice presidential candidate J.D. Vance that the Democratic Party consists of women with cats who have no children.
Her post received millions of likes within hours. Although it’s hard to measure the exact level of support for Taylor Swift, her influence on her massive fan base will likely have a significant impact on the election.
Meanwhile, Musk’s post, following his recent interview with Donald Trump, also drew attention with millions of views. During the debate between Trump and Harris, Musk shared multiple posts criticizing Harris.
Musk seemed to enjoy the controversy surrounding his post and Taylor Swift, humorously commenting, “Oh wow, now the election between Elon and Taylor Swift is actually happening.” In the end, he conceded defeat and announced he would give the singer a child.
Elon Musk currently has 12 children and is involved in a custody dispute with his ex-girlfriend Grimes over three of them.
