Adele, the globally acclaimed singer with 15 Grammy Awards to her name, recently revealed that she has been suffering from a severe ear infection that caused her significant pain, leading her to contemplate having her ear removed.
Adele revealed that she suffered from hearing loss due to a serious ear infection
The singer disclosed her mild hearing loss due to this serious ear infection. Although she has not fully recovered, Adele is determined to complete her remaining performances.
On October 25, during a concert in Las Vegas, the voice behind “Rolling in the Deep” shared that she is gradually recovering from the infection that made it difficult for her to hear clearly. “I had an ear infection, and it was awful. I’ve never experienced anything like this before. It was the most painful thing I’ve ever gone through in my life. It was worse than giving birth,” the singer expressed.
During her latest concert in Las Vegas, Adele surprised the audience by revealing her health struggles. The British songbird shared that she had just endured a terrible illness, claiming that the pain was even more intense than the pain of childbirth. “I had a very serious ear infection; I’ve never had an infection like this before,” she said. “It was the worst pain I’ve ever felt in my life, even worse than when I gave birth.”
What caused Adele’s illness?
The cause of Adele’s condition stemmed from a rare waterborne bacterium she encountered during a 10-day tour in Munich, Germany, this past summer. Initially, she mistakenly took the wrong medication for treatment, leading to excruciating pain that made her consider “removing my ear.” While the infection has since been treated, Adele is still experiencing partial hearing loss in her left ear.
This is not the first time the “Easy on Me” singer has faced a serious infection. Back in 2013, Adele suffered a fungal skin infection after performing under excessively hot lights at the Colosseum at Caesars Palace.
