Even after discussions, Crawford felt uncomfortable with MMA rules, stating, “I don’t want to get kicked or elbowed in the Octagon.” McGregor respected Crawford’s stance, acknowledging that the latter would be at a disadvantage in MMA, just as McGregor would be in a pure boxing ring.
