The G-Unit mogul took to Instagram to reignite the feud by sharing a clip of Desiigner’s 2017 freestyle for Funkmaster Flex, which was widely ridiculed at the time. In the clip, Flex is seen looking confused and unimpressed, and 50 Cent added a caption, “Sometimes you don’t have to say anything at all,” along with a distressed emoji.
The post caught the attention of many, including Bobby Shmurda, Slim Thug, and Loaded Lux, who all shared their amusement in the comments. But Desiigner wasn’t laughing.
Desiigner Fires Back at 50 Cent
Not one to take the insult lying down, Desiigner clapped back at 50 Cent by bringing up his past. He mocked the rapper-turned-TV producer’s extreme weight loss for his role in the 2011 movie All Things Fall Apart and even previewed a new diss track. The song includes the lyrics, “Talking 50 Cent, I’m talking 50 mill.”
Additionally, Desiigner shared a photo on his Instagram Stories of 50 flipping off the camera, a clear message aimed back at 50 Cent himself.
The Origins of the Feud
The spat between the two rappers began earlier this month after 50 Cent revealed on Million Dollaz Worth of Game why he didn’t sign Desiigner following the success of his 2016 hit “Panda.” According to 50, Desiigner’s breakout hit wasn’t enough to convince him of the rapper’s staying power.
“I had him at the office,” 50 said, recalling their meeting. “I was like, ‘Yo, let me hear the other records you got.’ And he’s like… ‘That’s it.’” While Panda was a smash hit, 50 Cent was skeptical of Desiigner’s work ethic and longevity in the industry. “I was struggling,” 50 admitted, “but I was like, ‘Nah, I can’t give that n-gga that money.’”
Will the Feud Escalate?
With both artists exchanging barbs on social media, it’s clear the feud is far from over. As 50 Cent continues to troll Desiigner’s rap abilities, and Desiigner refuses to back down, fans are left wondering how far this spat will go.
