50 Cent has found a clever way to respond to both Dame Dash and Desiigner while simultaneously promoting his latest book, The Accomplice. The rapper-turned-author has been facing criticism from both the music mogul and the rapper following comments he made during his interview on the Million Dollaz Worth of Game podcast.
Dame Dash’s “CEO” Challenge and Denture Mishap
Dame Dash went live on Instagram to address 50 Cent’s remarks about his financial situation. In the process, Dash experienced an unfortunate moment when his diamond grills fell out mid-sentence. The moment quickly went viral, providing 50 Cent with plenty of material to fire back.
In response, 50 Cent shared a video on Instagram on September 6, which included clips of Dame’s “dentures” falling out and Desiigner’s freestyle diss, all while promoting his new book. The video caption read: “Wow ya man teeth fell out his mouth LOL what a week, all roads lead to Shreveport let’s work. LMAO.”
Desiigner’s Freestyle Diss: “TRASH!”
Meanwhile, Desiigner clapped back at 50 Cent in the form of a freestyle diss, following 50’s story about how he passed on signing the “Panda” rapper to G-Unit Records. Desiigner expressed his frustration at 50’s dismissive comments during the Million Dollaz Worth of Game interview, where 50 joked that he couldn’t even remember the rapper’s name.
50 Cent wasn’t impressed by the freestyle and made sure to make his thoughts clear in the video, labeling it as “TRASH!” His criticisms were aimed at Desiigner’s inability to follow up on the success of “Panda,” which topped the Billboard Hot 100 in 2016 and went on to be certified five times platinum.
50 Cent’s Decision Not to Sign Desiigner
During his podcast appearance, 50 Cent revealed that he had initially considered signing Desiigner to G-Unit before the rapper chose Kanye West’s G.O.O.D. Music. However, after hearing the rest of Desiigner’s music catalog, 50 ultimately decided to pass on the deal.
“I was like, ‘Yo, let me hear the other records you got.’ And he’s like… ‘That’s it,’” 50 explained, sharing that the rapper didn’t have any other standout tracks beyond “Panda.”
Though Desiigner briefly reunited with Kanye on the Vultures 2 track “Sky City,” his career has since struggled to replicate the success of his debut hit.
With his new book The Accomplice out now, 50 Cent continues to stay at the forefront of both music and entertainment while cleverly addressing his critics.
