CNN quoted a statement from the airline Voepass Linhas Aéreas, writing that 57 passengers and 4 crew members died in the above plane crash. It is known that the crashed plane was an ATR-72 passenger plane manufactured in 2010 “and was in good operating condition”.

“I heard a very loud noise and it was close to me. I thought it was a drone. When I looked up at the sky, I saw the plane spinning. A few seconds later, I realized that I had no time to run away, as the plane was very close to where I was standing. I ducked down before I heard the sound of the plane hitting the ground. “When I looked out on the balcony, I saw a big plume of black smoke,” Ms. Cicari recalled.

Data from Flightradar24 showed that the ATR-72 aircraft had plummeted from an altitude of about 17,000 feet (more than 5.1 km) in just one minute, an impressive and terrifying figure that illustrates the horror of this tragedy.
