The Formation of Milk Tea – A Sweet Story
Milk tea originated in Taiwan in the early 1980s and quickly spread to Southeast Asian countries in the 1990s. In 1983, the owner of a tea brand in Taichung created cold milk tea after seeing Japanese people drinking cold coffee. That was the beginning of a new trend.
In 1988, “fen yuan” (tapioca pearls) was added to milk tea, creating a new topping – black pearls, making milk tea more interesting and popular.
Bubble Tea or Bubble Tea?
Many people often mistakenly think that “Bubble Tea” means pearl milk tea. In fact, the word “Bubble” in English means “bubble”. This name comes from the fact that when milk tea is shaken vigorously to mix the ingredients, bubbles will appear on the surface, leading to the name “Bubble Tea”.
Is Milk Tea Good?
There are some opinions that milk tea can be harmful to health. However, when made from quality ingredients such as tea, fresh milk, and natural toppings, milk tea can be a completely healthy drink choice.
A common problem is that many stores use poor quality ingredients to increase profits, affecting the health of consumers. To ensure safety and flavor, choose reputable brands and check the quality of the ingredients.
