According to Claro Sport, she announced her retirement from professional swimming after failing to advance to the semifinals in the 100m butterfly at the Paris 2024 Olympics. Post-competition, Luana Alonso plans to focus on modeling and being a Key Opinion Leader (KOL). She currently has nearly 700,000 followers on Instagram.
Alonso posed by the Seine River in Paris, France. This was her second Olympic appearance, following the Tokyo 2020 Olympics. At 17 years old, she finished 28th out of 33 athletes in the 100m butterfly heats and did not contend for a medal.
Luana began swimming professionally at the age of 11 and has won the Paraguayan national championship twice. She has frequently appeared in magazines in her home country and is affectionately referred to by fans as the “mermaid” and “real-life Ariel.”
Born in 2004, Alonso is currently a student at Southern Methodist University in Texas, USA. Sports Illustrated noted her resemblance to Livvy Dunne, a renowned American gymnast, both sharing blonde hair and a fit, athletic beauty.
The swimmer embraces a glamorous style, often sharing photos in bikinis and form-fitting attire on her social media. Luana weighs around 60 kg and participates in various sports to maintain her figure. She strength trains weekly to build muscle and enjoys jet surfing, a sport that burns significant calories.
Due to her intense training regimen, Luana Alonso has a relatively relaxed approach to her diet. She prioritizes protein-rich foods and salads but also enjoys carbohydrate and fat-heavy dishes like hamburgers, fried chicken, and various bread. Additionally, she frequently drinks unsweetened coffee.
