The beautiful Indian shooter changed her life thanks to the Olympics
Indian sharpshooter Manu Bhaker has become a highly sought-after figure for endorsements after clinching two medals at the 2024 Paris Olympics
From someone not so famous,Bhaker has been inundated with offers from brands following her stellar performance at the Olympics. Over 40 brands have reached out to Bhaker, seeking to make her their ambassador, with her endorsement fees soaring six to seven times higher than before.
Bhaker secured a bronze medal in both the 10m air pistol individual and mixed team events. She also finished fourth in the women’s 25m pistol event on August 3. Competing against Vietnamese shooter Trinh Thu Vinh, Bhaker made history as the first Indian athlete to win two medals in a single Olympic Games.
Neerav Tomar, CEO of IOS Sports & Entertainment, the agency managing Bhaker, stated, “We have received around 40 proposals in just two to three days. Currently, we are focusing on long-term agreements and have already signed a few contracts.”
Prior to the 2024 Olympics, Bhaker was an ambassador for only one brand, Performax Activewear. Now, about six brands are in negotiation with her for endorsement deals. Besides her impressive achievements, Bhaker’s striking presence during competitions has further bolstered her appeal.
“Her brand value has increased five to six times. Previously, we signed contracts worth around 2 to 2.5 million rupees, but now the figure has risen to approximately 15 million rupees (about 4.2 billion VND) for exclusive, one-year deals,” Tomar added. IOS Sports & Entertainment is also pursuing legal action against brands that have used Bhaker’s image and videos for advertising without proper agreements.
At just 22 years old, Bhaker has shown remarkable progress under the guidance of legendary coach Jaspal Rana. She is considered the future of Indian shooting, with sports managers planning to invest in her to secure a gold medal at the 2028 Olympics.
In addition to her newfound financial opportunities, Bhaker has the honor of being the flag bearer for the Indian contingent at the Olympic closing ceremony on August 11, further enhancing her brand value.
