Cristiano Ronaldo set an incredible record when launching his YouTube channel
Cristiano Ronaldo once again made history by achieving a notable milestone on YouTube. The Portuguese football legend earned the coveted Golden Play Button less than 90 minutes after launching his personal YouTube channel.
As one of the most followed athletes on social networks globally, Ronaldo has attracted a large number of fans. However, it was not until August 21 that he officially introduced his YouTube channel with the name “UR.Cristiano”.
Sharing about this decision, Ronaldo said: “I am very happy to see this project being implemented. It has been brewing for a long time and finally, I had the chance to make it happen. I have always valued strong connections with my fans on social media and my YouTube channel will provide an even greater platform for me to continue this. Fans will get to know more about me, my family, and my views on various topics. I also look forward to sharing conversations with guests that are sure to surprise everyone.”
With a huge following on other social media platforms, it only took Ronaldo 1 hour and 29 minutes to attract 1 million subscribers, earning him the Golden Button. This achievement sets a new record, making Ronaldo the fastest person to ever receive this award on YouTube.
As of 8:30 a.m. on August 22, Ronaldo’s “UR.Cristiano” YouTube channel boasted a staggering 10.7 million subscribers, earning him the Diamond Button in just over 12 hours—a feat no one has done it yet.
Currently, Ronaldo has 112.5 million followers on X, 170 million on Facebook and 636 million on Instagram. The number of subscribers to CR7’s YouTube channel is expected to skyrocket in the coming days.
