Isabel May Joins Scream 7 as Sidney Prescott’s Daughter
The Scream franchise is set for a thrilling new chapter with Isabel May, known for her roles in Yellowstone prequels 1883 and 1923, joining the cast of Scream 7. May will play the daughter of Sidney Prescott, the iconic character originally portrayed by Neve Campbell. This casting news has generated significant excitement, especially since Campbell is returning to the series after stepping away from Scream 6 over a salary dispute.
Scream 7 is shaping up to be an eagerly awaited continuation of the franchise, which has faced numerous setbacks in its production journey. The film is scheduled for release on February 27, 2026, after delays, creative changes, and cast shifts. However, with Campbell reprising her legendary role alongside May’s fresh addition, the film promises to deliver a fresh and compelling story for fans.
The franchise’s creator, Kevin Williamson, will return as both director and writer for Scream 7, alongside Guy Busick, who wrote the scripts for the previous two films. This collaboration between Williamson and Busick is expected to maintain the balance between the franchise’s trademark meta-horror and intense suspense, while introducing new dynamics.
Despite these promising creative efforts, Scream 7 has not been without its challenges. In 2023, the film saw notable cast changes after Melissa Barrera, who starred in the previous two films, was dismissed due to comments she made on social media. Jenna Ortega, who co-starred with Barrera, also had to drop out of the project due to scheduling conflicts with her Netflix series Wednesday. Additionally, director Christopher Landon, known for Happy Death Day, exited the project citing creative differences. These changes, along with production delays caused by the SAG-AFTRA and WGA strikes, caused uncertainty for the film’s future.
May’s role in Scream 7 is especially exciting for her fans. Besides her well-known portrayals of Elsa Dutton in 1883 and 1923, she also gained recognition for her role as Katie Cooper in the Netflix sitcom Alexa & Katie. May’s growing popularity and experience in both drama and comedy make her a perfect fit for the Scream franchise, known for its blend of horror and character-driven stories.
Produced by Spyglass Media and distributed by Paramount Pictures, Scream 7 will be produced by James Vanderbilt, William Sherak, and Paul Neinstein of Project X Entertainment, with Radio Silence serving as executive producers.
With a blend of familiar faces and exciting new talent, Scream 7 is shaping up to be an eagerly anticipated addition to the horror genre. Fans can expect a continuation of the Scream legacy, with a fresh narrative direction and an intriguing new chapter for Sidney Prescott’s story.
