Kim Kardashian recently shared her challenges as a single mother raising four children, following her divorce from rapper Kanye West. Despite her wealth and support system, the reality TV star revealed she often feels isolated in her parenting journey.
Feeling Alone Despite Support
In a candid conversation with her friend Zoe Winkler on the What in the Winkler? podcast on November 12, Kim Kardashian opened up about the emotional toll of raising her children alone.
“Sometimes I feel so alone in parenting,” the 44-year-old billionaire admitted. “Even though I have a great support system and people around to help, it still feels like I’m doing it all on my own.”
Kim Kardashian recounted moments of sheer exhaustion, such as sleepless nights when all four kids end up in her bed.
“They kick, they cry, they wake up,” she said. “I don’t often talk about this because people will judge, saying, ‘You have the money to hire nannies and help, so what’s there to complain about?’ But no matter the assistance I have, I’m essentially raising four kids by myself.”
The reality star also detailed her chaotic mornings, where she has to drive each child to school at different times and cater to their individual needs.
“It’s a lot,” Kim Kardashian confessed. “Every morning feels like a race against time.”
Co-Parenting with Kanye West
Kim shares four children with Kanye West: North (11), Saint (8), Chicago (6), and Psalm (5). Although they agreed to co-parent after their divorce in late 2022, the children primarily live with Kim in their family home to maintain stability.
Over the past year, Kanye has been traveling extensively with his new wife, Bianca Censori, spending months in Europe, Dubai, and Japan. Occasionally, he takes all four kids on trips, but most of the time, they stay home with Kim to attend school.
Last month, a source told magazine that Kim has been handling parenting duties largely on her own, as Kanye is rarely present.
“Kim’s life revolves around her kids’ schedules,” the source explained. “When they’re at school, she works. When they’re off, she’s fully focused on being a mom.”
The source added that Kim Kardashian isn’t currently dating, as her time is consumed by her work and her children.
In a November 2023 interview with GQ, Kim Kardashian emphasized her dedication to her kids.
“I’ll do anything for my children,” she said. “What’s important is that they feel loved and heard.”
Kim Kardashian also admitted to hiding her negative emotions from her kids, even when she feels overwhelmed. “I try not to show any sadness in front of them, though sometimes I cry during my weakest moments.”
Kim’s journey highlights the emotional and physical demands of single parenting, proving that even with resources, the challenges of motherhood are universal.
