Final Matches of the Season
The Minot State University (MSU) Beavers volleyball team will play its final two matches of the season while celebrating the careers of three senior players. This special event, called “Senior Night,” will take place on Friday, November 15, as MSU hosts Sioux Falls at the MSU Dome at 6 p.m..
Celebrating Senior Night, Honoring Key Players
At the event, the Beavers will recognize Taylor Wyatt, Bailee Brommenschenkel, and Madelyn Boop for their contributions to the team. This heartfelt celebration acknowledges their hard work and dedication throughout their college careers.
Taylor Wyatt, a senior majoring in Criminal Justice from Las Vegas, Nevada, has played 84 matches over four seasons with the Beavers, achieving 363 kills and an impressive 113 blocks. Wyatt ranks eighth in MSU’s NCAA Division II history with 97 block assists, ninth in total blocks with 113, and ninth in kills with 363.
Bailee Brommenschenkel, a senior majoring in Social Work from Ada, Minnesota, made her mark this season, setting the MSU Division II record with 80 blocks and counting. In her two seasons with the Beavers, she has played in 52 matches, tallying 261 kills and 138 blocks. She currently ranks sixth in total blocks and seventh in block assists with 119.
Madelyn Boop, a senior majoring in Sports Management from Reno, Nevada, had an outstanding first season with the Beavers, recording 177 kills, 176 digs, and 18 blocks in just 25 matches. She ranks second on the team in kills and third in digs, showcasing her significant impact on the court.
Crucial Matches Ahead
On Friday, the Beavers will face Sioux Falls in a pivotal matchup as both teams vie for a playoff spot. The Cougars (13-11 overall, 8-8 NSIC) are currently tied for seventh place with Minnesota State and Augustana in the race for one of the eight available playoff spots.
On Saturday, November 16, MSU will conclude the season against Wayne State, currently ranked 15th nationally with a 20-6 overall record and a 12-4 record in the NSIC. Wayne State is contending for a top playoff position and aiming to secure a home playoff game against Northern State.
