LeBron James secured his 115th career triple-double during the Los Angeles Lakers’ win against the Toronto Raptors on Sunday night. The Lakers star acknowledged a pivotal contribution from a fan at Crypto.com Arena, who reminded him he needed one more rebound to complete the feat.
James’ Interaction with the Fan
With under two minutes remaining in the game, a fan shouted a reminder, urging LeBron to grab one last rebound. Recalling the moment, LeBron James said, “He definitely got my attention. He yelled, ‘One more rebound!’ I was like, ‘What?’ and he repeated it. So, I got that rebound and pointed at him to acknowledge I was listening.”
Shortly after, James secured the rebound, locking in his triple-double, finishing with 19 points, 10 rebounds, and 16 assists. The fan’s enthusiastic reminder may have been motivated by a personal bet, as reports suggest the parlay required James to hit the triple-double milestone.
James Steps Up After Davis’ Injury
LeBron’s performance was crucial after Anthony Davis exited the game due to a left eye injury late in the third quarter. At that point, the Lakers trailed by three. However, James took control, leading the team to a commanding 123-103 victory.
“I had no choice,” James told Lakers reporter Mike Trudell. “When AD goes down, I have to take on more responsibility and make plays to help our team win.”
Head coach JJ Redick commended LeBron for his all-around impact: “LeBron controlled the game—not just by scoring but through his defense, rebounding, and passing.” D’Angelo Russell also highlighted James’ influence, stating, “He dominates in every aspect—whether it’s facilitating, rebounding, or leading the offense.”
With the win, the Lakers remain undefeated at home and aim to extend their streak to 6-0 when they face the Memphis Grizzlies on Wednesday.
