Cardi B is confident that her fame and success come from a higher power, and she isn’t letting negativity or criticism get in her way. During an Instagram Live session, the rapper shared her thoughts on her career and how she believes she’s been divinely chosen, claiming that she was “picked by Jesus” to be where she is.
Cardi B’s Divine Calling
While talking to fans from her recording studio, Cardi opened up about her journey from being a stripper to a global superstar. She noted that despite recent “weird energy” and negativity, she remains unshaken, as she believes her success is God-ordained.
“You wanna know how I know I’m anointed?” Cardi asked her fans. “You know how many strippers are in America – in the world – how many strippers have a fat ass, how many strippers could rap? And God chose ME to be famous!” She emphasized that she isn’t relying on “black magic” or any superstitious means for her success, but rather on her faith and belief in being one of “God’s kids.”
Cardi B’s Lawsuit Over Music Video Mansion Rental
In addition to her spiritual convictions, Cardi B is also handling legal drama related to the mansion rental for her “Like What” music video. Cardi and Offset—who directed the video—are being sued for allegedly failing to pay the full rental fee for the Beverly Hills mansion used in the video. The owners are seeking $35,000 in damages, claiming that Cardi and Offset misrepresented their intentions by stating they would only film a short TikTok video on the property.
Cardi, however, has been quick to defend herself, claiming they paid $10,000 in cash for a full 24-hour rental, from 6 a.m. to 6 a.m. the following day. She further stated that they paid additional fees for going one hour over the rental time, and shared screenshots and payment receipts on X (formerly Twitter) to back her claims.
Cardi’s Outburst Against the Lawsuit
Furious over what she sees as a baseless claim, Cardi addressed the lawsuit on social media: “We paid those people $10,000 IN CASH to rent the property for a whole 24 hours…we went over by ONE hour which we paid overage fees…there were cameras all over and both the realtors and the owners were there the ENTIRE time.” She called out the property owners for allegedly attempting to “finesse” her, stating, “Why would it take us 24 hours to shoot a TikTok?”
In a heated response, Cardi added, “The problem is people wanna find loopholes and get over but IRON YOUR BEST SUIT BITCH I’ll see you in court!” The Bronx rapper further shared screenshots of text messages exchanged between her and Offset, along with proof of a $4,500 transaction to the realtor to further support her case.
