Naomi Campbell: Being a mother feels like a blessing
At age 54, Naomi Campbell, the iconic “black panther” of the modeling world, finds profound joy in motherhood. Known for her illustrious career, Campbell now shares the most cherished role of mother in her life, regularly traveling the world with her children as part of her professional commitments.
Motherhood: Dreams realized. In a recent interview with Harper’s Bazaar USA on August 14, Campbell shared about her journey from supermodel to mother of two children. She shared: “Being a mother is the greatest happiness. “My blessing is to be the mother of two beautiful, innocent children. Every day with them is a learning experience. They are such good children.”
When asked how her busy travel schedule affects her parenting, Campbell explained that she often takes her children with her, seeing it as an opportunity for family adventures. “I don’t take my kids from New York to London just because I have a two-day photo shoot. It’s not fair, but the kids really like to travel,” she said.
Campbell, who welcomed her children via surrogacy, had a son and a daughter in 2021 and 2023, respectively. She has kept their names and birth dates private, previously sharing hidden images of them and has since deleted all such photos. Notably, she appeared with her daughter on the February 2022 cover of British Vogue with only their backsides exposed.
According to The Times, Campbell has no plans to find a father for her children, content with being a single mother. “My children are 110% my priority. I have to be present on the first day of school,” she said happily.
Born in 1970 in England of Jamaican and Chinese descent, Campbell began his career at age 15 at the Italia Conti Academy of Dramatic Arts. She has appeared on more than 500 magazine covers and was the first black model to appear on the covers of British, French, and Russian Vogue and Times magazines.
Campbell has been engaged to notable figures including U2’s Adam Clayton and businessman Flavio Briatore, and her most recent relationship was with rapper Skepta, who is 13 years her junior. They secretly dated in 2018 but broke up after 5 months.
Naomi Campbell is also the first model to have an exhibition honoring her influence on the fashion industry. “Naomi: In Fashion,” running from June 22, 2024 to April 6, 2025, at the Victoria and Albert Museum in London, showcases more than 100 outfits and many of the high-end accessories she wore over the past 40 years.
Naomi Campbell continues to inspire with her outstanding career achievements and dedicated approach to motherhood.
