Adele’s Struggle with Hearing Loss and How She Overcame It
Adele, the iconic singer behind the hit “Hello,” recently experienced excruciating pain she described as “worse than childbirth” after contracting a rare illness that affected her hearing. As a singer, hearing and singing are everything, making this condition particularly challenging for her. Adele revealed that she had contracted a rare bacteria during her 10-day stay in Munich, Germany, in August.
She shared, “It was a very serious condition, hard to treat. I’ve never experienced anything like it before. This bacteria caused me the most pain I’ve ever felt in my life.”
Initially, Adele thought she was dealing with a normal illness and took antibiotics. However, she later discovered she had been using the wrong medication, which worsened the pain in her ears. After visiting a hospital, she was prescribed new medication to accelerate the healing process.
During her time enduring the pain, Adele even considered extreme measures, saying, “I even thought about cutting off my ear a few times, but thankfully, I’m no longer in pain. My left ear did temporarily go deaf, though.”
Adele’s Resilience Amidst Health Struggles
Despite her health scare, Adele continued to power through her commitments. On October 27, she performed at her Weekends with Adele concert in Las Vegas, where she was overwhelmed with emotion after seeing legendary diva Celine Dion sitting in the audience. The touching moment was captured on video and quickly went viral across social media platforms.
Adele is set to finish her Weekends with Adele residency in Las Vegas after two years. She is now preparing to explore more creative ventures, and there is speculation that she may pursue an English literature degree or even try her hand at acting during her break from music.
When asked by German television about the possibility of releasing her fifth album following the success of 30 (released in 2021), Adele confirmed that she has no plans to release new music anytime soon. “I don’t have much energy left after the long Las Vegas residency. I’m even too tired to sing indoors,” she confessed.
